25 miles to our east is the west entrance to Glacier National Park, known as “The Crown of the Continent”. Whether you want to explore by car on the world-renowned Going to the Sun Road, or get off the beaten path, Glacier has an option for you.

Ranked #10 in Ski Magazine “Best of the West” resort rankings, Whitefish Mountain Resort has the goods for every level of skier. The resort is 7 miles from the lodge.

Biking

For mountain bikers, the Whitefish Bike Park offers 30 miles of trails and lift access to downhill routes. For road bikers, consider attempting to ride the Going to the Sun Road in the Spring before it opens to vehicular traffic.

Lakes

Nearby Whitefish Lake offers a variety of water recreation from motorboat rentals to paddleboarding to relaxing at City Beach. Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, is a 30 minute drive away.

Rivers

Break out the fly rod, book a whitewater rafting adventure, or take a float on one of the many beautiful rivers of northwest Montana. If you’re looking to kill a few minutes, step outside and throw a line in the room-side Whitefish River and see if anything is biting.

The Flathead Valley

Kalispell is 10 miles to the south of Whitefish and offers a variety of big box shopping and other amenities. Bigfork is a quaint town on the bank of Flathead Lake and offers small town food and shopping and a brewery. Want to get away from the crowds of Glacier National Park? Try a hike in the Flathead National Forest.
